Based in Miami, FL, the nonprofit Human Services Coalition (HSC) identifies and launches innovative strategies to help people and communities thrive. HSC works through a network of partner organizations, linking people with financial education, health care information, public benefits and educational and economic opportunities. Recently, the Board of County Commissioners voted for our community by supporting the "rollback rate" - which will earn the county the same amount of property tax revenue as last year, thus avoiding the worst budget cuts.
We protected our future by writing, calling, emailing and petitioning our commissioners and asking them to support the rollback. But this was one of three votes that will determine the county's revenue for the upcoming fiscal year. We can't rest now!

Job openings at HSC: School Engagement Director Ready Schools Miami and the Human Services Coalition are partnering to promote family engagement and student academic success. The program director is responsible for overall program implementation: building relationships with Miami-Dade County Public Schools and other stakeholders; supporting five Americorps members to recruit and engage families and community members to participate in a dialogue-to-action program; building HSC’s school-based civic engagement program.
